TL Insider Fireside Chats feature the most compelling people in politics, society, literature, fashion, design, food, and more, and as part of our virtual programming, we're bringing these dynamic leaders into your homes.

On Monday, June 21, you're invited to an important Fireside Chat with special guests the Honourable Leela Aheer, Minister of Culture, Multiculturalism and Status of Women, Geraldine Huse, President of Procter & Gamble Canada, and Rahul Singh, Executive Director at GlobalMedic, to discuss the intersection between businesses, governments, and charities, and the impactful ways they work together to be a Force for Good.

Minister Leela Aheer was first elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for the constituency of Chestermere-Rocky View on May 5, 2015. She was appointed as Alberta’s Minister of Culture, Multiculturalism and Status of Women on April 30, 2019. She is also Minister responsible for the Francophone Secretariat. Previously serving as the Opposition Critic for Children’s Services and Status of Women, Aheer brings her experience as a legislator to her new portfolio. A key priority of the new government is to provide more protections for women, through initiatives like Clare’s Law. Aheer will continue to work hard to build an Alberta that regardless of who you are, who you love, where you come from, to whom you pray - is for generations to come, strong and free.

Geraldine Huse is responsible for P&G Canada's business and operations of one of the Company’s Top 10 Focus Markets. She has oversight of almost 2000 employees across 3 sites in Canada: a manufacturing site in Belleville, a distribution center in Brantford, and a general office located in Toronto. During her career, Geraldine has championed Equality & Inclusion efforts by addressing the gender balance in leadership roles and promoting inclusive leadership as a unique way to succeed in the age of disruption. Geraldine has held various senior leadership roles covering markets across Europe, Asia, IMEA and America. UK’s top trade magazine identified Geraldine as one of the top 100 influential women in business.

Rahul Singh founded the David McAntony Gibson Foundation (GlobalMedic) in 1999 to honour the memory of his best friend who tragically lost his life in 1998. Combining a passion for humanitarian assistance with a frontline emergency perspective, Singh developed GlobalMedic’s unique operational mandate of providing efficient and cost-effective disaster relief in the immediate aftermath of a catastrophe using professional emergency workers. Since then, Singh’s tireless efforts have created a globally recognized, innovative, and efficient organization - earning him a spot on Time Magazine's List of the 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2010.
