On August 4, join winemaker René Van Ede and sommelier Ed Hadden from The Foreign Affair Winery in Niagara as they guide you through a virtual tasting of July’s Toronto Life Wine Club package featuring a spectacular trio of wine from Foreign Affair’s collection.

René and Ed will share insights and context as you sip your way through the rich 2019 Chardonnay, the refreshing 2019 Sparkling Rosé, and the unique single varietal 2016 Petit Verdot. This is your chance to go behind the scenes as you sip this month’s featured wines.

The Foreign Affair Winery is best known for their diverse portfolio of award-winning Appassimento-style wines. Head winemaker René Van Ede has been in the industry for many years and is extremely passionate about crafting exceptional wine. After a 14-year tenure as the head winemaker at Tawse Winery and Redstone Winery, René spent a year specializing in the appassimento method and made his way to Foreign Affair in April 2020. His current mission is to show the world what Niagara fruit can do by making great quality wines. With over 25 years of industry experience, sommelier Ed Hadden is an expert in creating memorable experiences with wine enthusiasts and industry professionals alike.
